What happens before my initial career consultation?
You will have a short telephone conversation with one of our career coaches and career management specialists. We will review your CV and also look at the key issues you would like to discuss. In addition we will send you a short career questionnaire to complete in advance which provides us with further information.
What happens at the initial diagnostic career consultation?
You will have an in-depth discussion about your career options in the context of your life and short and long term priorities outside work. We do not charge for this. We prepare thoroughly for this meeting. As a result of this meeting you will have greater clarity on the career options which are appropriate for you and how you can go about moving forward to locate what you want.
What is the follow up to this? How do I find out about the services you provide or what the cost would be?
After your initial consultation, and where we think we can support you further, we will send you a suggested programme outline and details of the cost. This will be tailored to your specific needs and may cover our full Personal Career Review, identifying the most suitable career options and alternatives for you, and supporting you in your search for a new work or career opportunity.
Will I be able to see someone outside of my office hours?
Many of our clients are working. We start at 8.30 am and our last appointment is at 6.00 pm. We always try to see you at time and location that is convenient for you.
How long is an initial consultation?
Up to 75 minutes. If you have less time available we will ensure that we keep to it.
What is your success rate?
We have very high levels of success with our clients. Many new clients are personally recommended to us. See our testimonials.
Can you provide me with the name of someone who has received career coaching and support from you?
Most of our clients ask for confidentiality and we do not give out names of individuals. If you meet us for an initial consultation we can put you in touch with someone to talk to.
How do you decide on which career coach is right for me? How long has the career coach been coaching and counselling?

Will I have the same career coach throughout my time with Gateway Career Management?
Subject to their availability you can choose which career coach you’d like to meet with for your initial consultation and who you wish to work with subsequently.
What contract is involved?
We ask you to complete a booking form before you commence a programme and confirm that you are happy with our Terms & Conditions. We take consideration if your situation changes and you decide you do not want to complete all of your programme. We charge you only for the programme time that you have used less an administration charge.
Do you charge for cancellation of a meeting?
We will charge you a cancellation fee should you fail to notify us 48 hours in advance of a scheduled meeting. Details are in our Terms and Conditions
How long does a programme take?
For the first two to three sessions your career coach will probably like to meet you weekly or fortnightly to complete the initial stages of our career review and planning process. If we are helping you produce a new CV and search for a new job the sessions are arranged around your broader activity. You can spread out sessions – for example you may wish to hold interview coaching until you have an interview scheduled.
Do you guarantee to find me a job?
We are not a recruitment consultancy with a database of current vacancies. As career coaches we are 100% candidate driven. We will give you a clear strategy and real focus which you have agreed to. We will also give you the confidence and the tools to drive this forward. In many case this leads to a new job or opportunity being secured.
