Job Search using LinkedIn

LinkedInIf you’re using LinkedIn for job search then there are things you can do to improve your profile and so make yourself more interesting (and relevant) to possible new employers.

Two LinkedIn Actions for TODAY!

  1. It may sound obvious, but complete your profile. That includes filling in details of past employers. Most of the information will already be on your CV – but here’s an opportunity to expand on your achievements if you wish. Keep it interesting and relevant.
  2. Next, look for colleagues (past and present) who know your work and ask them to recommend you. Do this for current and past positions. This shows that other people recognise and appreciate your talents. Do ask senior staff to recommend your work too.

And, looking forward, do schedule a monthly or quarterly task to update your LinkedIn profile with any new responsibilities and to ask for recommendations. One of the easiest ways to gain recommendations is to give them.
