I was referred to Peter for career guidance following a recent redundancy and subsequent career transition. I had been with my company for 6 years and getting back out into the jobs market seemed a little daunting. However, Peter was incredibly reassuring and his expert advice gave me a renewed strength that enabled me to persevere and set my goals even higher than I had before. Peter provided me with strategies and approaches that I had not before considered, and I found these to be of great benefit, particularly in seeking a new role that would fit well with my personal and professional goals. He was able to open my mind to new ideas and really focus on what it is that was important to me.
Throughout the process, Peter was an absolute pleasure to engage with. Personable, friendly, genuine, and sensitive to difficulties yet constructively challenging at the same time. But what I like most about Peter is his ability to specifically tailor each meeting to the individual in front of him. It wasn’t a generic “off the shelf” service that he was providing. This was a personal one to one package where he invested his own time, diligently carrying out his own research into my industry and areas of business that I may benefit from.
It was obvious that Peter wanted me to achieve the best result for me, from the outset, and I certainly owe part of my success in securing a new position to him. I am very grateful for our time together and I have no doubt that we shall remain in touch. It goes without saying that I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Peter to anyone wishing to develop their career and understand themselves better.
Peter successfully helped me to achieve an ambitious career change from Academic Research in Biology into Data Science in Industry. He worked out a detailed and personalised program for me. We worked through it for two months (six meetings). We started with assessment of my personal aspirations, strengths and aspects to develop. After re-writing my CV and exploring all ways to get to job interviews, including the so-important networking, I was invited for three interviews, which all went well thanks to Peter’s experience and the professional preparation he provided. No doubt, I made the right choice to work with Peter to achieve this career goal.
For me, Peter has been the right doctor with the right medicine! Following a career break, I received speculative approaches from several companies offering to help me find my next job. But I stayed clear, because I was put off by the pushy sales tactics and the lack of transparency on the services and the costs. Peter was completely different: there was no hard sell; he was totally open and honest about what he could (and could not) do for me; he offered me a wide ‘menu’ of different services and options, at an affordable cost. Having listened to me, he proposed a flexible programme customised to my specific needs.
Peter has provided me with a new start to my job search and renewed motivation; he has also introduced me to new channels and techniques that I would never have found on my own. I have been impressed with Peter’s ability to quickly establish a good connection with me and to provide me support in a way that makes me feel I am no longer on my own! Of course I have no hesitation in recommending Peter to you, and the best way I can do this is to tell you that I am serious about my career and I will be using Peter’s services again in the future!
I met Peter shortly after relocating to England, as I was trying to decide what path my career should take here. With a successful career spanning decades in executive management, I was at a crossroads as to the direction I should take in terms of primary interests, experience and longer-term desires. Peter quickly established the areas of concern in various directions and enabled me to crystallize my thinking as to the best route to take. He was then able to provide me with excellent advice on my “marketing programme” as well as to assist me with contacts of his own. I’m very happy to recommend Peter to anybody looking for clarity in their career direction, or assistance with developing their career further.
Following being made redundant, I was looking for some help with my search for a new role to ensure that I was heading in the right direction. After an initial meeting with Peter I instinctively knew that he was the right person to help me in my job search. Peter’s knowledge of the job market and use of a variety of tools that made me think about my own personality, skills and interests ensured my job search was more focused, organised and far more effective than it had been in the past.
With Peter’s expertise and input on my CV I was confident about my previous experience and had strong solid examples which was invaluable for me when in interviews. It was the same information, but it was more clear and concise with key words and I was proud to be sending my CV across when applying for roles.
Peter was always professional and upbeat about my job search encouraging me along the way especially when I had not successfully secured a role following interviews. His pragmatic approach was essential to me “dusting myself down” and going for the next opportunity successfully securing a role.
Peter really gets to know you so that the advice and support he gives is tailored for you and your personal job search. I would not hesitate to recommend Peter to anyone who is looking to change role or change direction. I will certainly be keeping in touch with him as I manage my future career.
After a brief break from work following redundancy, I was looking for some help with my search for a new role and to ensure that I was heading in the right direction. After an initial meeting with Peter his professionalism and pragmatic approach convinced me that he was the right person to help me; I was not disappointed. Peter’s approach is to guide you to understand your own personality, skill set and interests in order to better understand how to best use and present your skills and to give you a clearer vision of where to go with your next step. He then uses an array of tools, skills and knowledge to target your new self knowledge into a clear and effective job search.
With Peter’s help I was able to optimize my CV, an exercise which immediately bore fruit, producing many more contacts than I had seen previously. The same information was in it, it was simply a matter of presenting it in a clear and concise way; when it’s your own life it seems so obvious. Peter’s skills in getting you to see yourself and your career more clearly are invaluable in helping you to present your life, skills and personality to be more obvious to others. Peter also gave me the tools and knowledge to use my contacts in a targeted and effective way, resulting in the contact which led to my current role. His understanding of the way the job market works and how to utilise all the information and the tools out there, also helped to make my job search a lot more effective very quickly.
Peter was always reassuring and professional, tailoring his approach and all meetings to my requirements. His methods are so effective, in my view, because he takes the time to get to know you, to understand what makes you tick, guiding you to take that knowledge and apply it to your own search in a clear and targeted way. Add to that his willingness to act as a sounding (and sounding off) board when things aren’t going quite to plan and Peter makes the ideal support for getting you through the search for a new role. I would not hesitate to recommend Peter to anyone who is looking to change role or change direction – either through their own choice or an enforced change. He is the ideal consultant.
Following my redundancy last year Peter worked with me to assess my situation and help me consider the options open to me. Throughout this process he was unflagging in his enthusiasm, support, and encouragement. His approach was excellent – he listened sensitively to me as well as challenged and motivated me to make progress. He helped at a practical level too by, for example, drafting of a new C.V. for me. Peter’s professionalism backed up by his extensive knowledge, sources of information and a range of practical tools enabled me to explore options that I would never have thought of and ultimately helped me to decide on my new career path. Peter has been both a mentor and critical friend and I have greatly valued his support. He was also fun to work with at a time that was fairly testing for me, which was a real bonus. I hope we can keep in touch!
Peter has a great depth of experience in all matters relating to careers and career change. He brings real enthusiasm and passion to his work and has helped innumerable people identify the correct direction for their careers and then given them the tools to help them get there.
I am very pleased to provide a recommendation for Peter. Having undergone redundancy and my own “career change” recently I have found Peter’s professional, experienced and personable approach both valuable and (very important in what can be such an unsettling time), reassuring. As well as equipping me with the key tools for moving forward (including basic things like a new CV – my old one being about 20 years out of date!) Peter has given me the confidence and conviction to help me develop my new career path into private practise and setting up my own company. Peter is a real “people person” and has shared with me a lot of his own experience in starting a new company which I’ve really valued. Thanks Peter, I hope we keep in touch!
Peter provided invaluable support and guidance for me after my redundancy from my last company. He gave me advice and practical tips on setting up my own business, many from his own experience and insight into networking and his knowledge of the job market, as well as considering the pros and cons of Consultancy and Interim work or building a portfolio career. He helped me think about my main transferable skills and capture my achievements to give more impact to my CV. This helped focus my mind and decide on the best career and business strategy to take in both the short and long term. I would highly recommend Peter to anyone who is wanting to explore their career options and take the right decisions.” In addition, he is also a pleasure to work with, and is great at keeping you motivated.
Peter’s clear, logical and professional approach to the challenge of career transition resulted in an unexpected, yet successful outcome. My expectations, fully met, were reviews of competencies, revision of CV, etc. The outcome, as a result of Peter’s professional approach to facilitating ‘think it through for yourself’ – together with deft personality profiling – was an entirely new and exciting direction, running my own business. Highly recommended.
